Skosh Box May

Here’s the review of the May Skosh Box. This box is a Glico brand sampler box. The following taste test is our own opinion according to our taste. We tasted everything with an open mind and open palate.

Almond Peak Crisp Peak

Chocolate covered almonds with sugary crunch bites

• Chocolaty smell
• Nice balance between chocolate and almond

Caplico Mini Cones (We get these all the time from an online shop when they are available)

Ice cream cone taste in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry 

• soft filling
• very flavorful
• crispy cookie cone

Poky Trinity: Orange Peel

Orange peel infused rich chocolate over a crunchy cookie stick

• lite citrus smell
• Chocolaty/orange taste
• Crisp cookie stick
• Not for everyone but I love them

Bisco Sandwich

Cream cookie sandwich

• nice sweet smell
• lite cookie with a nice crispy
• the cream has a lite taste

Pocky: Double Rich Matcha

Macha cookie stick dipped in a match flavored coat

• matcha smell
• sweet mocha dip
• crisp cookie stick

Pocky Midi: Ichigo Cheesecake

Mini cookie sticks with strawberry cheesecake flavored dip

• nice strawberry smell

• Not a buttery smell
• first taste is sweet then savory but not really buttery

Pretz: Salad Note: (We’ve been eating salad pretz for years and we love them)

• savory seasoning

Cream Collon: Milk

Crispy cookie shell with a creamy milk filling

• Vanilla smell
• thin crisp cookie
• lite cream taste

Here’s the review of the March Snack Crate. The themed country was Korea. The following taste test is our own opinion according to our taste. We tasted everything with an open mind and open palate. 

Honey Twist Snacks

Flour snack twists coated in Acasia Honey

• No strong smell
• mild flavor and sweetness
• Crisp to the bite
• Enjoyed

Banana Kick

Corn puffs with a sweet banana taste

• Strong banana smell
• Looks like cheese puffs
• Not strong taste but the taste is like banana chips
• Corn puff texture
• Surprising and very good

Shrimp Crackers (Sorry we are unable to taste these because we are allergic to shellfish)

Sweet Potato Snack

Crunchy sweet sticks

• Smells like veggie chips
• Crisp to the bite
• Lite sweetness
• Enjoyable

Choco Pie

Marshmallow sandwich cookie covered in chocolate

• Chocolate smell
• Cookies are dry to our taste
• Marshmallow filling is soft to the bite
• Not our taste

Yakgwa

Traditional Korean cookie (Yakgwa is made mainly from honey, sesame oil, and wheat flour) [from Wikipedia]

• Biscuity smell
• Very dense bite
• slight sweetness
• Not for our taste

Custard Cupcake

Golden sponge cake filled with a custard cream

• Smells like angel food cake
• Lite cake (taste is like angle food cake)
• No strong custard taste
• Nice taste

White Cookie Pepero

Cookie stick dipped in a cookies and cream coat

• Lite cookie smell
• Lite white chocolate taste
• Crisp to the bite
• Slightly stale after taste

Almond Pepero

Cookie stick dipped in chocolate and almond bits

• Chocolate smell
• More of a nutty taste than chocolate
• Slightly stale after taste

Choco Boy

Crunchy cookie with a chocolate top

• Chocolate smell
• Crisp cookie to the bite
• Chocolate bland to our taste

Kancho Biscuits

Crunchy cookie filled with chocolate

• Cookie smell
• Dry outer cookie
• Filling taste not strong

Koreabob Seaweed

Crispy cracker with a seaweed taste

• Ramen smell
• Can’t describe the taste
• Crisp to the bite
• Not a taste we like

PPushu PPushu (instructions on how to prep this was not listed on the package so we took a chance on what to do. I sprinkled the powder packet on top of the ramen and then we tasted it.)

Note: I have sense looked up the instructions on how to prepare is and found a YouTube video someone posted up. Although I did not prepare is correctly I know the taste would not have changed. You are supposed to 1. Brake up the noodles in the back 2. Pour the seasoning packet over the broken noodle 3. Shack it up. 

I did brake up the noodles and I sprinkled the powder on them and shook off the excess, so it was very close to the instructions.

Skosh Box April

Hi everyone so here is the reveal. This post is the taste review of the April Skosh Box snacks for Japan. All the tasting is done by the What’s In It TV crew and are strictly based on our likes and dislikes. Below is listed the name of the item and the description listed by Skosh Box and then our taste thoughts.

Popcorn Choco White - popcorn covered in white chocolate

We thought it had a rich white chocolate taste with a good popcorn crunch.

Bake: White Cookies - rich crumbly white chocolate bites

We thought they had a rich white chocolate and slightly baked flavor with a smooth texture.

Fettuccine Gummies - mixed fruit soda flavored hard gummies

We thought they had more of a grape flavor than mixed berry. There is a mix of sweetness and tartness and very chewy.

Calpis Marshmallows - fluffy marshmallow with tangy Calpis filling.

Note: Calpis (pronounced Karupisu) is a Japanese uncarbonated soft drink

We thought the marshmallow was soft and fluffy and the filling had a small tang to it.

Koeda: Premium Cheese - strong cheese flavored biscuit sticks

We thought is was soft to the bite and smelled baked. The taste was slightly nutty with a bitter after taste.

Nama Hi-Chew grape - rare succulent grape premium hi-chew

We thought it had a strong grape smell. It was soft the the bite, chewy and doesn’t stick to your teeth.

Suppa-Mucho chips - ume (pickled plum) flavored potato chips

We thought it had a regular potato chip smell. Initially the chips taste like regular potato chips with a slight sweet taste. 

Mochi Mochi Chacola - chewy mochi skin with rich strawberry cream filling

We thought it had a light strawberry smell, soft and really chewy texture with a soft strawberry taste.

Yasashi Shoga - mild ginger gummy candy

We thought it was soft to the touch with no smell. It had an outer sugar coating with a very light ginger taste without being overpowering or have the peppery taste you often get with candied ginger. We found it very refreshing and a good palette cleanser.

Green Bean Mame - crispy baked green pea bites

We thought they had no smell. The taste was a crispy, lite taste like veggie chips but they didn’t taste like green peas.
